Himachal, known as one of the best tourist places all over the world, has always been known as an enjoyable place. In the lap of  Himalayas, it entertains everyone with its natural beauty. One of these places, Arki of Solan district, which is considered to be very special in both ways natural and historical. It is a historic town, which is known for its ancient forts, which is related to the 18th-century era. Know how the city can make you enjoy in terms of tourism.

The fort of ‘Arki’

Arki Trip can be started from the historical sites of this place, it can be the first destination of your journey. In the 18th century, this fort was built by Rana Prithvi Singh, which was used by Gorkha rulers during the invasion of the city. At present, this fort is used as a heritage hotel, which offers a beautiful blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles.

The walls of the fort are decorated with rock paintings, which expresses the early lifestyle of local residents. The fort is the private property of former ruler king Rajendra Singh. From this fort you can also enjoy the natural beauty of Himachal Pradesh which is seen all around the Fort.

The Arki palace

In the Arki’s historic sites the famous palace, which is addressed by the name of Arki Palace. According to the evidence, the Arki palace was constructed by King Prithvi Singh during the 18th century. This place is famous for the Graffiti. There inscriptions and paintings inspired by the myths and folk culture. Famous wall paintings of Kalidas’s Kumar Sambhavan is the center of attraction. The architecture reflects many themes from the past. You can come here for a better understanding of history.

Bhadrakali Temple

In addition to the historical sites, you can visit the famous religious places. the Bhadrakali temple of Maa Kali is one of the popular religious places, which was built in 1650 and also known as Jakholi Temple. In addition to religious importance, this temple is famous for its fascinating architecture and carvings. You can see the work of many complex carvings on the walls of the temple. It is a famous temple, where you can see tourists and devotees daily.  

Luturu Mahadev Temple

Apart from the Bhadrakali temple, you can visit the temple of Luturu Mahadev. This Temple situated on the mountains.It is also known as the holy place as well as the heritage of the Rajput rulers. It is surrounded by the rocks, so devotees have to walk safely. this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. A ‘Kivandati’ is also attached to the temple, it is believed that Lord Shiva appeared in the dreams of king Bhagal Singh and ordered him to build a temple on the top of the mountain. After that, this temple was constructed. You can come here for a different experience.


In addition to the above mentioned sites, you can make a plan to visit Kunihar, a beautiful natural destination. This is a beautiful valley in Solan district named after Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
